The White Oak Mountain Quilt Guild was founded by Eileen Gore.
Eileen was the owner and operator of Apple Tree Quilts in
Chatham, Virginia (at Tightsqueeze). Eileen has since sold the
store and moved away.
The first meeting was held at Eileen's home on September 25,
1989 and there were fourteen ladies present that night. Seven of
these ladies are still active members of the Guild.
