Darrell Hawkins gathered 12 Members of our guild who made a
basket block, 2 members who worked with the boarders and 1
member who quilted this Basket quilt for the St. Lukes United
Methodist Church Agape Day fund raiser.  We spent about 25
hours total time.  Ann Duke (president) presented the quilt to
Randy Sinclair.
Our guild members will be making Head Scarfs and shawls for cancer patients.
Neck coolers for the Soldiers fighting in Iran and Iraq.  These neck coolers are filled with
silicone tablets which become cool when wet.
Lap Quilts for the Nursing Home.
The finished quilts should be about 36" x 48" (about 3 feet by 4 feet ).  They need
to be very durable because they will be washed in very hot water.  They nursing
home will mark the residents' names and room numbers on them.  They will be
passed on to other residents when not needed.  There are quite a few residents
who have no family and could really use a quilt.  They could also use 10" or 12" square
pillows.  This year we will also be able to make wheelchair / walker bags.  Pattern
will be available at monthly meeting.  If you have a family member or friend at the
Riverside Nursing Home and you would like them to receive a quilt, please let Jean
S. Gaulding know.
Quilt for a Cure.  The workshop on March 17, 2004 was a great success.
